Recently our team member Beenish Mahmood interviewed Sameera Ali, one of the town councillors in Milton.

Sameera is the local Councillor since 2018 for Ward 4 (which is the southwest area of Milton and also the fastest
growing ward in the fastest growing town in Ontario). She recently won a nomination, and is also the Ontario Liberal Party Candidate for Milton.

Being a global citizen, with international life experiences, Sameera is the perfect representation of Miltons most
diverse ward.

Sameeras passion for volunteering in the community has given her the insight and understanding needed to “fill in
the gaps” and build bridges in our town. Issues related to Youth, Poverty Reduction and Seniors continue to be her focus and as such she sits on the Milton Youth Task Force, is the P.R Officer for the Milton Legion and the Community Director for Milton Halal
Food Bank. Sameera holds a Masters Degree in International Relations/PR and professionally she has over 15 years of experience in managing multi-lingual PR and Marketing campaigns for clients all over the world.

Currently, she resides in the Willmott neighbourhood of Ward 4 with her loving husband and four beautiful children.
