Let’s face it… fall is a lot of things:

The changing colors, back to school for the kids, and the end of summer.

But with the changing seasons, it’s also when our body is most susceptible to falling ill.

How many of us get sick or have kids who get sick in September/October?

As the season changes and the temperature drops our body’s response to viruses and bacteria also drops. I think the main reason for that can also be all the partying, sleepovers, and vacations during summer where mostly we eat whatever is available (processed foods, excess sugar, fried goodies) we indulge over the summer, as well as disturbed sleep weakened our immune response.

But it doesn’t need to be this way. If we make some simple yet fundamental changes today, we can support and strengthen our immune system and skip the fall viruses, allergies and weakness altogether.

In this post, I will share 3 Things that can be done to boost the immune system.

Eating a balanced diet

Eating a well-balanced diet that includes whole grains, good quality proteins, fats and whole lots of veggies and fruits provides nutrients that helps our body to fight infections. Avoiding sugar and seed oils will also help to improve overall health and support the immune system.

Fix your sleep cycle

A good night sleep plays a very important role in good health. At night when we are sleeping our body gets a chance to repair itself and prepare it for the next day. Many studies have been done on the relationship between sleep and a weak immune system & they all show that less sleep lower /weakens the immune system.

Be Active

As the temperature starts to drop. We tend to stay in more and more. This less movement of our physical body also causes our lymphatic system to get stagnant. Our lymphatic system plays a huge role to keep us safe from infections. Just a 15-30 mins walk or jumping at one place for 3-5 mins will help the flow of the lymphatic system.

These 3 things seem very little and easy but if practiced daily will help to strengthen the immune system.
