Hello everyone, I’m Asifa Baig, Im thrilled to introduce my firm GenNext Chartered Professional Accountants to all of you. My place of origin is Pakistan, and I currently live in Mississauga, Ontario.

iii. What inspired you to start your own business?

I believe financial health and wellness is a pillar of overall wellness. However, I noticed that for most individuals and business owners, good financial management, planning, and reporting is often an afterthought. I also noticed that there was a gap in terms of any one professional having a handle of an individual’s “total picture.” Tax implications cannot come after strategy; they must be integrated with strategy.

Taking this into consideration, I merged my passion for entrepreneurship and knowledge of accounting and tax and set up GenNext Chartered Professional Accountants. My goal is to help clients become more tax-efficient and perfectly balanced, so they can focus on other important things in life.

iv. What do you do to grow your business?

I participate in various business events and forums, along with making use of social media platforms to promote our services. Though I strongly believe that word of mouth has played the biggest role in my business growth; my clients are more than happy to refer me.

v. What were the challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Going from a very well paying job to starting from scratch “0” is definitely a psychological challenge as well as a very real one. My biggest challenge however was realizing that theory and practice are quite different, as well as understanding all the regulatory and practical requirements of setting up a practice definitely caused anxiety.

vi. Interesting facts that people do not know about you?

Im blessed with 3 beautiful children and 3 cuddable grandchildren.

Also, Im working on something called the Global Wellness Target and the Return on Humanity (ROH) Framework.

vii. The best business advice you ever received was?

Evaluate the decision at hand, make your decision and never look back.
Worse one…Paying attention to detail is not important.

viii. How do you advertise your business?

We mostly use organic advertising to promote our business.
We are definitely focused on leveraging the latest technologies and digital business promotion.

ix. How does your business help the community?

By taking control of people’s finances and prioritizing diligent bookkeeping practices, we have successfully helped them to lead a balanced work-life, peace-of-mind, and all the health advantages such positivity brings. On the other hand, procrastination in business and financial issues hurts the organization’s overall health and, in turn, is known to have an adverse effect on the well-being of the individuals involved.

x. How do you balance your business & home life?

The best part of owning my own business is that when I really need to do something like go spend time with my grandchildren or meet someone, I can schedule my meetings and work to suit what is most convenient.

xi. Hobbies, interests. How do you unwind yourself?

When I am not servicing my clients, I look for opportunities for personal development by listening to many of my digital mentors such as Dr. Joe Dispenza and Gregg Braden. I’m fascinated with pushing the boundaries of our human potential.

xii. What is a day in your life like?

I must say that right now as my business is going through its early stages and we are developing different service lines, it does get busy. However, I start my day in gratitude and end my day in gratitude for having the privilege of being alive and being conscious of the blessings that are abundant in my life.

xiii. How does your family support you with your venture?

My husband has always been my biggest supporter not just in spirit but also practically. I believe my kids think moms dedication is a bit crazy, but I know they respect me for it.

xiv. What advice would you give to others who want to start their own business?

Find your passion and master it. Then, move forward with a knowing that you will never be mislead and that everything will align in perfect timing.
