You can Pinterest your kitchen! (I guess thats the term they use these days)

Thats right! You Can get your dream kitchen even on a budget. The kitchen is the “Central point of the home” where most of the familys time is spent. In this article, I am going to help you to understand what to keep in mind before remodeling your kitchen and show you a timeless white and rose gold kitchen reveal.

Reasons to Remodel Your Kitchen

Its proven that a good kitchen remodel can help you lead a happier and healthier life. It brings more family time and more home cooked meals. A kitchen that is more efficient will save you time in preparing meals. More cabinets and adding an island can help with giving you more space and organization which can make you work better in the kitchen area. Not only that! Renovating kitchen space can definitely also offers an excellent return on investment as it increases the market value of your home.

Make A List

The whole remodeling process starts with deciding a layout of what you have imagined. Try to make a list of all the changes you want in your kitchen.

This list could include types of flooring, cabinets, countertops, backsplash, cabinet hardware, sinks, appliances, faucets,  lighting, wall and tiles… the list gets long!   Choosing material is the fun part of it. But there can be obstacles you can run into with plumbing, layout, and more. Thats why its going to be very important  to meet with your Contractor and you need a Good Contractor that suits your budget and style.

Fitting in your Budget

If youre tight on a  Budget and are unable to remodel completely. You can do small changes in few areas that can have a big impact

  • Painting is enough to change the look to replace drawers and doors fronts. You can spend less and make a huge impact by painting the cabinets.
  • You can also change the look of the kitchen by just simply replacing the handles and  knobs with a different style and finish.
  • New lighting is also a perfect way to make a statement for your kitchen on a budget. Ideally pot lights should be  installed over worktops and hanging lights in dinning area. It can give an amazing facelift to the kitchen area.

Plan Ahead

The most important thing to consider when doing a kitchen is to plan ahead your kitchen space and organization. In addition to the choice of kitchen cabinets material and the cost of the cabinets, it’s crucial to consider the style of the cabinet you want. Whether you want shaker style cabinets, flat ones, farmhouse, rustic, cherry or maple cupboards with glass doors…the possibilities are endless!  Cabinets are often the focal point of the room. There are many professionals that can help you choose the style of cabinets, the right materials, and the layout of the cabinet.

In this kitchen the old cabinets were replaced with the Modern Style Shaker Cabinets that will stand the test of time. The aim should be to achieve functionality, convenience and relaxed airy ambience. Redoing the space planning for cabinets gave more storage space  and functionality to the kitchen with easier access. The older style ceiling lights were removed along with the bulk head and fresher brighter and modern look was achieved through pot lighting.

The old pantry  was dysfunctional with no divisions and proper spacing to organize things, so giving it more sections allowed more storage space. Also giving it a barn sliding door made it useful and aesthetically pleasing. You can choose to make an appliance garage in the pantry or in the kitchen. In this case I did it in the pantry.

Flooring, Countertops and Backsplash

Flooring is the single biggest factor in elevating the luxury look. We managed to achieve this look by using luxury Marble tiles on the kitchen floor.

The countertop was replaced with white quartz and for the Backsplash I used the Bianco arabesque glass tiles. Arabesque tiles are understated and modern, but they give character and texture to the kitchen. Also for the kitchen not to look all white it was a great contrast as we used a light grey grout. For Accents I used copper as it is the New Black. It allows you to dress any piece of furniture to add extra contrast to it. For the hood I used a white French Hood instead of a silver one just to keep things more unified as it is the centre point of  the kitchen.

Styling & Décor

Lastly to keep the theme and color scheme in harmony rose gold accents including two copper pendant lighting for lighting fixture were placed above island.

Finally most exciting part is the last part which is the decorating where you can place flowers, baskets, trays, accent pieces, napkin holder and vase for styling, as accessories are both fun and can inject energy into your design.

Also placing an island in the breakfast area with six modern white Eiffel leg 26″ bar stools completely elevated the look giving more space for family time.
